WWE 2K15 Game Mode Overview

Follow

Hello Superstars!

A question we’ve been asked repeatedly is what game modes are available for which systems; this post will spell that out.

We've organized these modes down into sections, divided between Single Player and Multiplayer modes.

Additionally, there's a handy table at the bottom of this post that shows which platforms will have what modes available.

Single Player

2K Showcase

2K Showcase lets players relive the greatest moments of the WWE Universe. In this mode, you’ll be able to explore some of the greatest moments, rivalries, and ring encounters. Not only will you be able to watch high-quality cinematics and listen to authentic Superstar voiceovers, but there’s also historical footage from WWE programming to enjoy. Within each match of this mode, players will be tasked with completing bonus historical objectives that result in new content being unlocked for all other game modes.

Career Mode

WWE 2K15’s MyCAREER Mode lets players create a custom Superstar and guide them through a career in the WWE. Winning matches allows you to upgrade your Superstar’s attributes, abilities, and skills, while you’re able to spend you salary on other in-game items. As you pass through the WWE ranks from NXT to Raw (with the ultimate goal of taking the WWE World Heavyweight Championship), you’ll not only go up against top WWE Superstars, but you’ll also be able to square off against those custom characters created by your friends.  This mode is available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Universe Mode

A top-down management mode, WWE Universe allows you to run the WWE as you see fit. Just a few of the things you’ll be able to do is create a custom calendar with both shows and pay-per-view events, set rosters for various brands, and determine your own rivalries/alliances. This mode is available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3.

Who Got NXT?

Who Got NXT allows players to climb through the WWE ranks, going from NXT to becoming a full-fledged member of the WWE roster. As players go through the campaign’s chapters, they’ll get to experience matches inspired by historic moments and rivalries, interacting with a variety of talent from NXT programming. This mode is available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Online

Background Matchmaking

This is only available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Players can use Background Matchmaking to find opponents for Ranked and Casual matches in a variety of match types. Players can set their Matchmaking preferences such Match Types, Superstars, Divas and Arenas and then search for an opponent – even while playing an Exhibition match. For Ranked Matches, players will earn ranking points which help to increase their rank level and leaderboard positions.

NOTE: Casual matches are un-ranked

Private Matches

This is only available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. In Private Matches, players have the ability to invite friends to join their session. Private Sessions also provide players with the option of including AI opponents in their matches though at least 2 of the participants must be human controlled.

NOTE: Both these modes support all match types except the Royal Rumble

Ranked Matches

Available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. These are public matches that allow you to earn points to climb the leaderboards.

Player Matches

Available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. These are casual, unranked games between friends.
