Why Can't I Simultaneously Earn Jordan And Adidas Shoe Endorsements?

Hello, All-Star!

One of the major accomplishments in NBA 2K16's MyCAREER mode is the ability to earn endorsements.

This aspect of the game mirrors much of the real world's ins-and-outs of NBA marketing and advertising. In NBA 2K16’s MyCAREER mode, you can earn Jordan and Adidas shoe endorsements. After accepting the endorsements, the entire respective shoe collections become available for your MyPLAYER character to wear.

However, you may only have one major shoe endorsement at a time.

You cannot have the Jordan shoe endorsement AND the Adidas shoe endorsement at the same time. Just like in real life, Jordan (or Adidas) would make a player agree to a clause to not sign with a competing brand for the duration of the endorsement, so NBA 2K16 emulates this.

That means Jordan and Adidas shoe endorsement deals are mutually exclusive; when foregoing one for another, you can't go back to the other.

So, key points to remember:

  • Regular endorsements (non-shoe related) award different amounts of VC.
  • If you switch from a shoe endorsement with either Jordan or Adidas to the other, you can't ever return to the other with this specific MyPLAYER character.
