UPDATE 12/09/13: After investigation, we’ve discovered that a number of players with crash errors on XCOM: Enemy Within are attempting to run the game at lower than minimum system requirements. XCOM: Enemy Within requires a dual-core processor to run. XCOM: Enemy Unknown could function on single-core processor machines, but was not designed to do so. XCOM: Enemy Within requires a dual-core processor to run.
