Activation - Troubleshoot

If you are having difficulty getting your copy of BioShock to register, please try the following steps.

  1. To allow your activation to go through disable background applications.    
  2. Please fully disable your antivirus software by using msconfig.
    1. Click on the Start Menu
    2. Click on "run"
    3. Type in the following MSCONFIG
    4. Click on the startup tab
    5. Deselect all the ticked boxes
    6. Click on "apply" and then close the window
    7. Restart your computer
    8. When your computer starts up again, please ignore any messages from msconfig (do not close these)
    9. Please uninstall the game and reinstall
    10. Run the game   
  3. To return to the original startup sequence follow below instructions
    1. Click Start Menu
    2. Click "run"
    3. Type in the following MSCONFIG
    4. Click on "normal startup"
    5. Click on "apply" and then close the window
    6. Restart your computer
    7. Please ensure your Activation key is entered as it is written on the back of the manual (including the dashes, and not getting 0's and O's mixed up etc.)
