The dev team is aware of an issue where some players may have Civilization: Beyond Earth crash at launch of a multiplayer game. We are currently investigating this, but have a workaround in the meantime.
The host of a multiplayer game -as they are setting up the game- will need to scroll to the bottom of the setup screen and disable the pre-order map pack DLC. See the screenshot below for how this should look.
