2K takes player conduct and fairness very seriously. NBA 2K players who engage in toxic behavior, cheating, or other means to gain an unfair advantage, degrade the quality of the game and diminish the overall experience for the rest of the community.
NBA 2K Players who violate the Terms of Service, the 2K Code of Conduct for Fair Play, and/or this NBA 2K Player Code of Conduct may face corrective action ranging from an initial warning or temporary suspension to an account ban.
Prohibited behavior subject to corrective action includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Purchasing, selling or transferring NBA 2K accounts to or from another player, including transferring accounts for the purpose of engaging in “grinding” services affecting account progression.
- Purchasing Virtual Currency (VC) or MyTEAM Points (MTP) from unauthorized third-party sellers/websites.
- Transferring VC or MTP to or from another player or account.
- Farming or selling VC or MTP, including but not limited to creating multiple accounts for the purpose of transferring and/or aggregating currency, or non-participation in matches that result in currency accrual, whether that be through manual input or automated processes.
- Promoting unauthorized VC or MTP sales, such as actions taken to increase awareness or drive engagement for any VC or MTP offer or promotion which is not clearly and explicitly authorized by 2K or Take-Two.
- Building or using bots in any form or fashion
- Hacking or attempting to hack NBA 2K in any form or fashion
- Using “mods” or other software to gain an unfair advantage.
- Uploading content with the intent of exploiting gameplay and/or damaging the gameplay environment.
- "Boosting” - Fraudulently altering progression by coordinating with other players to manipulate the outcomes of online games
- Players identified to be involved in “boosting” may lose all earned REP progress and be temporarily or permanently banned. We appreciate your partnership and support in protecting the game and community. Please contact customer service if you feel you have been banned in error.
- Uploading, creating, or sharing content that is illegal, offensive, inappropriate, lewd, or otherwise harmful, such as nudity, profanity, racism, hate-speech, misogyny, self-harm, exploitation, or abuse.
- Uploading, creating, or sharing community content that is a reference to drugs or alcohol.
- Uploading, creating, or sharing content that includes, looks like, or is based on any third party intellectual property, including any references to, or images from, any other franchise, game, movie, TV show or brand that may be restricted depending on the specific game’s guidelines.
- Abusive, threatening, or bullying behavior directed at 2K's personnel or other players, clans, groups, or teams.
- Promoting, or encouraging other players to engage in, dangerous real-world stunts or challenges.
KEEP IN MIND: The examples above are not intended to be a complete list. These are some of the actions that are not allowed, in order to help you understand what kind of behavior is not considered okay for any 2K game or community interaction.
Promoting, increasing awareness, or driving engagement to any of these prohibited behaviors which are not clearly and explicitly authorized by 2K or Take-Two is not allowed and is also subject to corrective action.
The number of violations of this policy that are allowed before a player's account or device is suspended or banned may vary depending on the severity of the infraction. Player accounts or devices may be permanently banned immediately if the severity of their infraction is significant, the volume of content uploaded, created, or shared by them that violates the policy is high, or the volume of complaints received about them is high.
