Hey Superstars!

Here’s a refresh on the game-modes that will be featured in WWE 2K20, as well as a breakdown of updates and changes made for this year’s entry!

MY CAREER:

STORY SYNOPSIS

WWE 2K20’s MyCAREER tells the story of “Red” and “Tre,” two lifelong best friends who set out to fulfill their dreams together in WWE. This approximately twenty-five-hour experience takes place in starts on the day of Red and Tre’s WWE Hall of Fame induction. Through reminiscing with other Superstars and legends, we flashback from Red and Tre’s at their first matches, their struggles to work their way up on the indies, their time in NXT, and finally at WWE as they attempt to achieve Hall of Fame.

 KEY POINTS

• For the first time ever, create both a female and male MyPLAYERs, and take them through MyCAREER playing storylines and matches, even occasionally teaming together with the all-new Mixed Tag match feature.
• Unlock WWE Legends, Career specific Superstar attires, original characters, unique environments like “Hell’s Colosseum,” and a special New Day themed arena.
• Last year, Buzz traveled to the Multiverse to find his “inner demon.” This year, Red and Tre cross through an interdimensional portal to try to find the Undertaker who hasn’t been seen in years, encountering various surprises along the way.
• MyCAREER is fully voiced again, this year featuring performances from nearly 50 WWE Superstars, NXT Superstars, and legends in addition to nearly 20 original voiced roles. Interact with newly voiced Superstars such as Ronda Rousey, The New Day, Becky Lynch, Adam Cole, Velveteen Dream, The IIconics, Samoa Joe and more.
• Track Red and Tre’s career progress with “The List.” – As teenagers, Red and Tre write down all of the goals they’d like to someday achieve in wrestling which later becomes their road map to success. Can you cross off their final list item: “Get inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame”?
• At certain points in MyCAREER, the decisions you make affect the matches Red and Tre compete in, who they team with, and possibly even lead to some “alternate outcomes.” Be sure to explore different choices to see what paths they might lead you down!
• Podcasts are back this year, including “The Buzz and Cole Show” featuring the return of Buzz and Cole Quinn from WWE2K19’s MyCAREER.

2KCENTRAL:

Showcase

• For the first time ever, 2K Showcase focuses on the Women of WWE!
• 2K Showcase provides 17 videos in total, with a combined run time of more than 28 minutes, with the 4 Horsewomen personally telling you their story.
• There are 15 historical matches taking you from NXT all the way to the brightest lights of WrestleMania.
• Get ready for an astounding 55 story-centric video cutscenes bringing you up close and personal to the action.
• Fans can look forward to 10 unlockable attires for Charlotte, 7 for Sasha Banks, 7 for Becky Lynch (1 as a manager), and 4 for Bayley, among other unlockable attires!

Towers

• A Premier 16-match Tower, showcasing the rivalries of Roman Reigns, complete with video introductions from the Big Dog himself.
• New match types are now available:
  • Tag-Team
  • Triple Threat
  • Fatal-Four Way
• New Modifications and Stipulations for Towers:
  • Increased/Reduced Damage – Some foes might be doing extra damage with every strike, or you might find Submissions and Finishers even more devastating than before!
  • No HUD – How good is your ring awareness? Some matches will require you to rely purely on your instinct to finish the match with a win.
• Over 50 new towers available right from the start, divided into three categories:
  • Legends – Play as or against some of your favorite Superstars from throughout WWE History!
  • Women’s Revolution – Take a short trip through the careers of some of the premier Superstars of the WWE Women’s Division!
  • 2K Central – The Towers you know and love, complete with challenging stipulations to test your ability in the ring!

MyPLAYER/R2G:

Classes

• This year, MyPLAYER features 5 core “Classes” to choose from: CRUISER, STRIKER, SPECIALIST, POWERHOUSE and GIANT.
• Each Class features 2 unique “Styles” that will play differently from each other in addition to having their own set of Rewards.
• This year when you create your MyPLAYER in the MyPLAYER Wizard, you need to choose both A Class and Style for your MyPLAYER.

Prestige

• There are 5 earnable PRESTIGE Ranks: ROOKIE, SUPERSTAR, LIVING LEGEND, TITAN, IMMORTAL.
• Players can reach new PRESTIGE Ranks by reaching new XP levels. Each PRESTIGE Rank features 25 XP Levels.
• Reaching new PRESTIGE Ranks unlocks exclusive rewards. Both Male and Female “Styles” have their own set of earnable rewards.

MyPLAYER Tree

• The MyPLAYER Tree has been redesigned to allow for more freedom of choice. 
• Players can spend Attribute Points to upgrade their stats, or they can spend Skill Points to unlock new Skills, Abilities and Paybacks.
• Each “Style” features its own unique MyPLAYER Tree.

Side Plates and Challenges

• Side Plates and Challenges has been combined into one system. Each Side Plate is now comprised of a series of challenges that offer the player a variety of ways to earn a burst of XP towards their MyPlayer progression. 
• Challenges have been expanded to support more situations and now provide updates during gameplay on challenge progress. Completing all the challenges within a Side Plate earns you rewards.

Road to Glory

• Female MyPLAYERs are now fully integrated into Road to Glory, including daily matches, as well as upcoming PPVs.
• New "Featured Match" expands the options of daily scheduled "Tonight's Match" allowing triple threat, fatal 4-way, and 6-man matches.
  • Originals arenas will be integrated into the schedule of "Featured Match" when the Originals is active.
• Rewards earned in Road to Glory are now allowed to be used in the rest of the game.

BY THE NUMBERS

• Unlockables - Over 100 exclusive MyPLAYER PRESTIGE unlockables. (All Superstars parts earned through MyPLAYER also unlock outside of MyPLAYER).
• MyPLAYER TOWERS - Over 30 unique persistent towers, in addition to new Daily and Weekly Towers.

CREATE

• We can't really tout Create this year since we didn't really add to it.
• We are adding new CAS Parts for R2G and Originals.
• We are adding new parts for CAA in the Originals content.

PROMO

• 3040 new Promo lines (Spread equally between male and female Self-Promo and Callout Promos.

UNIVERSE

Show Improvements

• Match limits increased to 9 for Major/Minor Show (Up from 7)
• Match limit increased to 14 for PPVs (Up from 7, can now customize number of matches on PPVs)
• Championship Slots for Major Shows increased to 7 (Up from 6)
• Rivalry slots for Major Shows increased to 4 (Up from 3)
• Number of Co-Host Show slots for Minor Shows/PPVs increased to 3 (Up from 2)

Match Card Improvements

• Added support for deleting Promos from the match card.
• Added support for adding and deleting matches from the match card.

Storylines/Cutscenes

• Added 50 female variation cutscenes of the most-used cutscenes.
• 25 new cutscenes added for new storylines for these types of rivalries:
  • One vs One, Enemy vs Enemy, Low Intensity
  • One vs One, Ally vs Ally, Low/Medium Intensity

Match Table Improvements

• Added support for Custom Match Types in custom Match Tables.
• New "Championship Match" setting allows players to specify match-types that are eligible as title matches.
• "Main Event" setting now makes it more likely to include the specified match-type on the match-card.

Mixed Tag Teams

• Added support for Mixed Tag Teams in Universe (Superstars still limited to 1 team, cannot be on both a standard and mixed tag team).
• Added support for Mixed Tag Matches in Universe.

AUDIO

• Greg Hamilton debuts in WWE 2K20 as the new Ring Announcer.
• Over 20,000 new dialogue lines added to provide the deepest coverage of moves, entrances, and game modes to date.
• New Commentary featuring over 200 Superstar Rivalries, including full match treatments from start to end for all your favorite superstars.
• Renee Young joins the broadcast team for 2K Showcase.
• Hundreds of new Sound Effects and improved ambient crowd audio add to the authentic atmosphere.

WWE Creations

• Create your own Superstars, Entrances, Victory Scenes, Arenas, Move-sets, Videos, Shows, and Championship Belts.

Community Creations

• Download and share created content with other players.

ONLINE

Lobbies

• Reintroduced lobbies this year, supporting 1v1, triple threat, fatal 4-way and 6-man lobbies, with support for specifying gender and default WWE Superstars ("Fair Play") modes.
• Added the ability to search lobby based on type, rules, gender and default Superstars ("Fair Play") mode.
• New "Quick Play" mode puts the player into a lobby quickly filling up any open lobbies.

Tonight's Match

• New "Tonight's Match" feature is a daily scheduled match rotating through all match types, rules, genders and arenas. It’s an easy way to play something new online every day.
  • Originals arenas will be integrated into the schedule of "Featured Match" when the Originals is active.
