What is Free Ride Mode in Mafia: The Old Country?

Free Ride mode lets you explore the environment at your own pace and take on a series of new Challenges. This mode is focused primarily on new gameplay content, and while still narratively connected, it has no direct impact on the main story following Enzo's journey.

What are Free Ride Challenges?

Free Ride contains a variety of Challenges, featuring either racing or combat, that are unlocked based on your Chapter completion in the main story. You can jump between the campaign and Free Ride via the pause and main menus as you make your way through the story, or you can wait until you've finished every Chapter so you can begin Free Ride with all starting Challenges available.

What changes to Free Ride are coming with the Man of Honor DLC?

The Man of Honor expansion for Mafia: The Old Country, launching August 14, 2026, adds exclusive new content to Free Ride mode. You must own the Man of Honor expansion to play this content.

Does Mafia: The Old Country feature an open world?

Not primarily. Mafia: The Old Country's campaign is the main focus, offering a linear, narrative-driven, action-adventure story following Enzo Favara's descent into the brutal underworld of 1900s Sicily.

The Free Ride mode, which was added as a post-launch update for all players, lets you explore the Valle Dorata's environments at your own pace and take on a series of new Challenges. This mode is focused on new gameplay content, and while still narratively connected, it has no direct impact on the main story.
