If you're experiencing performance issues with a 2K title on an Android device, here are a few things that can usually help resolve them.
Clearing Cache
NOTE: Clear Cache does not delete your save files and is safe to use. However, uninstalling the game or using the Clear Data will delete the save files.
- Head to your device's Settings menu.
- Find Apps (or Applications, depending on your device) in the menu, then locate the app that you want to clear the cache or data for.
- Tap on Storage. The buttons for clearing the cache and app data will become available.
Closing Background Applications & Clearing Space
- Go to Settings and then select Applications.
- Tap Manage Applications and uninstall other applications that may be interfering with the game.
Additionally, try making some room on your device if your Storage is getting full. This can also be accessed through your phone's settings menu.
Rebooting the Device
Turn the device off by holding the power button for 10 seconds, wait 30 seconds, and then turn it back on.
Updating Firmware and Software
To update your device:
- Open your device's Settings menu.
- Select System then Advanced.
- Tap System Update and follow the on-screen directions to install any updates, if necessary.
To update the Google Play Store:
- Launch the Google Play Store
- Slide out the menu (3 horizontal lines on the top left), and tap on Settings.
- From there, scroll to the very bottom of the list where you will find a "Build Number" or "Play Store Version" - tap on it.
If an update is available, you'll receive a prompt that says "A new version of Google Play Store will be downloaded and installed." After the update, wait 10 minutes, restart your device, and then repeat the previous steps. You should now receive a prompt that says "Google Play Store is up to date".
Re-install the App
Uninstalling apps can vary due to your model. It is most important to note that uninstalling your app will delete your save files. Do not uninstall the app if you do not wish to lose your save files.
Checking your connection
To check your Wi-Fi connection:
- Open Settings.
- Head to Network & Internet or Connections.
- Tap Wi-Fi and ensure that Wi-Fi is turned on.
If the Wi-Fi indicator does not appear or none of the bars are filled, you may be out of range for your Wi-Fi. You can restart your wireless router if the Wi-Fi fails to connect by unplugging the router from the outlet, waiting 30 seconds, and then plugging it back in.
To check your mobile data:
- Open the Settings menu.
- Select Network & internet or Connections.
- Tap on Mobile data or Cellular data. Turn on Mobile data or Cellular data. If it is currently on, turn it off and on again to refresh the connection.
You can also turn on and off Airplane Mode from Settings > Network & Internet or Connections to refresh the data connection.
